Asian history

[So far, we have seen three excerpts from Sima Qian’s Records of the Grand Historian in our Primary Source Workshops. You have also read John Wills’s chapter on Sima Qian, which provides the historical contexts for Sima Qian’s work. For this assignment, please use the three Sima Qian excerpts (primary sources) and Wills’s chapter (secondary source) to answer the following questions: Is there a clear line between fact and opinion in Sima Qian’s writings? How is Sima Qian’s perspective influenced by the historical context and the intended audience? What do your answers to the first two questions tell you about how historians should approach their primary sources?

Make sure that your essay is two pages long, doubled-spaced, and with 12-point font. Use footnotes according to the Chicago Manual of Style for both direct and direct quotations. Please refer to our library page (https://libguides.stthomas.edu/Chicagostyle
(Links to an external site.)
) for an introduction to the Chicago style. I do not expect your citations to be perfect at this point and will be providing feedback on both your paper and your footnotes from this point on.]
